"STEEL: THE ART OF AN INDUSTRY is about our history. For the past century, steel has been the defining industry for the city of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Now this era is at an end and the city finds itself at a critical time of transition and transformation. Touchstone Theater has produced a multi-arts festival in collaberation with Lehigh University, Bethlehem Steel, local arts and civc organizations, businesses, the City of Bethlehem, and hundreds of people who worked at the steel. Artists and community members have joined together to use song, theater, storytelling, and visual arts to honor and celebrate the thousands of men and women whose hands have built our country. It's about grieveing for and era that has passed. It's about creating the era to come. It's a celebration of accomplishment, pride, optimism, and community rebirth."
