"Days of Steel" represents the
culmination of a two and a half year project co-ordinated by Bonnie as part of Touchstone
Theater's Steel Festival. This is the recording of songs written by local
songwriters to acknowledge Bethlehem's steel industry heritage.
Bethlehem's legendary
Godfrey Daniels listening club has long been host to a thriving open mic scene from where
the likes of John Gorka, Christian Bauman, and , yes, our Folkbabe have sprung. This
compilation CD features some of the finest samples of that scene.
"Woman in a
Van" is Bonnie O'Donnell's debut album, produced by Otto Bost, and released in early
1996. It includes mostly original material, with sparse acoustic arrangements gently
framing Bonnie's beautiful vocals. There is also a haunting a capella rendition of the
Irish traditional "She Moved Through the Fair." Harmony vocals are added by Anne
Hills and Otto Bost, and L.A. Williams adds a sultry fiddle to "Move My Heart
Around."
